WHAT IS PARTNERS IN POLICYMAKING?

Partners in Policymakingâ„¢ is competency-based leadership training program for adults with disabilities and parents of individuals with developmental disabilities. The purpose of the program is twofold: to teach best practice and the competencies of influencing public officials. The goal of Partners in Policymakingâ„¢ is to educate participants to be active partners with those who make policy. The idea is to develop partnerships based on positive relationships; they will become partners in policymaking. In today's political climate of radical change, Partners graduates must work harder than ever to prevent the loss of basic rights for people with disabilities. Partners' graduates can change the future by influencing public policy today.
